Plan Your Visit to the Falls

Parking is difficult at Minnehaha Falls on any given weekend in the summer. It will be even more challenging due to the increased traffic at the art fair. We highly recommend biking, using public transit, carpooling, or arriving early if you plan to drive.

Bike

Minnehaha Falls Park is conveniently located along the Minneapolis Grand Rounds Trail and just off Hiawatha and Minnehaha Trails.  With Minnehaha Falls being a popular summertime destination, along with additional attendance for the Art Fair, we encourage you to bike to help alleviate traffic and parking congestion.

Public Transit

Thanks to support from Metro Transit, you can ride the bus to and from the fair for FREE all weekend long!

We highly recommend parking at the Fort Snelling Park and Ride Lot and riding the Blue Bus Line to the park.

Please note: The Blue Light Rail Line is closed for construction through August 19. During this time, Blue Line trains are replaced by Blue Line replacement buses that serve the same route. Click the links below to download your free transit passes!

From Downtown Minneapolis/Highway 94 E: Take MN-55 E/Hiawatha Ave. Turn left on E 32nd Street. Turn Right on Minnehaha Ave. At the traffic circle, take the 3rd exit onto Godfrey Parkway. The park and parking lot will be on the right.

Parking

A limited number of paid parking lots are available within Minnehaha Regional Park, but they fill up early each day.

Two of the nearby parking lots are reserved exclusively for ADA-accessible parking, one in the North end of the park (directions here), and one in the SE end of the park (directions here), near the Vintage & Funky Fest. You may only park in these lots with an handicap placard. A small number of additional ADA-accessible parking spaces are also located in the traffic circle outside Sea Salt Eatery, though these spaces also fill quickly.

Free street parking is available in the neighborhoods directly north and west of the park. Please be sure to read all posted parking signs and follow any time limits or parking restrictions.

Accessibility

All artist booths are located alongside walking paths with step-free access throughout the fair. The Kids Zone is located on a grassy lawn.
